Teaching is a KaHOOT!
A teacher's main priority is to make sure that students are keeping track of the lessons and fully understanding the material. The one way that teachers go about this is through tests, quizzes, and assignments. However, testing students on the material does not have to solely be done in this way. In all actuality, testing students can be made fun! How can a teacher do this, one may ask? Well, with the wonderful technological tool, Kahoot, of course! Kahoot is a game-based learning platform that is interactive, fully engages students, and makes learning fun in a competitive way! Students must battle one another, and the only way to win is by getting the most answers correct! Thus, whenever a Kahoot is planned, most students will study and pay attention to that certain topic, as they will want to win the challenging game of Kahoot with their fellow peers! This takes an entirely new spin on learning, yet it is effective in its aim. To create a Kahoot is simple. All one must do is go to Kahoot.com and sign up for free. There are four options for signing up - teacher, student, personal, or professional. This means that not only can teachers create Kahoot games, but students can test themselves or their friends, as well! Additionally, Kahoot games can be used for businesses or private practices as a means of learning through entertainment. Once the account has been made, creating the Kahoot game is simple. One can pick any category that they want their test to be under, and type out all of the questions that they want to be featured on the game. These games can either be made public or private to the owner's digression. If a teacher is using a well-known topic and wants to help other teachers out, they can make their Kahoot game public for others to use! Additionally, Kahoot offers hashtags that can be put under the game so that others can find it easier when searching for certain topics and such. Teaching does not always have to require a textbook, paper, and pencil. With the grand technology that we have nowadays, teaching can be made fun - teaching can be a kaHOOT!
