Study Virtually with Quizlet
It's the night before your big test. You're frantically scurrying the house, searching for something to study with. Flashcards are nowhere in sight. Nothing to organize your notes with. Time seems to go by faster. Tick, tick, tick. Your anxiety is heightening.
Then, you find Quizlet. With Quizlet, you can virtually create limitless flashcards which you can use with a variety of features. There are four modes: learn, write, spell, and test. All of these modes make use of your flashcards that you manually typed and allow you to learn through virtual means. Hence, you learn the terms and definitions, understand how to spell everything correctly, make sure you comprehend through the fill-in-the-blank, and can even test yourself with a pre-made test that is completely adjustable to your liking! You can make your test include however many terms you wish, being some or all, and can even monitor different question types. With just a click of a button, you can customize if you would like written answer, multiple-choice, matching, or true and false questions! Additionally, you have the choice of starting with the term or the definition, depending on how you study. Everybody studies differently, and Quizlet makes note of that. It even has settings for those who are hard of hearing or need an auditory guide. An AI voice will read aloud the terms and definitions on the flashcards as you go through them, however, this can be turned off if one does not want that. Additionally, Quizlet has games that can test your brain with your virtual flashcards. There is a matching game and a gravity game. The matching game throws all of the terms and definitions on the screen at once and times you to put the matching terms and definitions together as quickly as possible. The gravity game, on the other hand, revolves around planets and asteroids. Terms will slowly float around space and it is your job to type in the definition before the asteroids can hit them. If you miss a term, the red asteroids will destroy your planet! It is a fun and different take on studying, especially virtually! What is also great about virtual studying is that your Quizlet sets can be copied and shared with anyone at any time! This is a wonderful tool for both teachers and students in the classroom setting. Instead of the usual study guides, teachers can create study sets on Quizlet and share them with the students before a test. That way, students can use the flashcards at any time and not have to worry about carrying a piece of paper around! They can simply just go on their phones wherever they are and study. They can also test themselves with the test maker or play study games to refresh their brains! Likewise, students can make their own study sets and send them to friends or partners if they are in groups! This is also great for projects, as students can share their ideas, notes, and what they know about the topic, while others can edit or add to the list! All in all, Quizlet is an astonishingly advanced learning tool that is extremely beneficial for the classroom. No more worrying about paper, as our technology is changing learning to virtual!
